Prop 8 Challenge Fails
After a well funded effort, the Secretary of State has annouced April 13th, that they have not receive the required number of valid signatures to challenge the decision of California's voters. That window of time to collect valid signatures has now closed and the initiative will not be put back on the ballot at this time. California has already spoken on the issue of marriage, and it is still defined as between a man and a woman. The voters did not need to re-think the decision they made in 2009. The vote of the people still stands!

At the December 8th, 2009 School Board Meeting,
a decision was made on a curriculum that replaces the unwelcomed Lesson 9. Details are as follows:

The Curricula that is on the table to "replace" Lesson 9, are Caring Schools Curriculum (without the controversial Lesson 9) K-2 or K-5 alongside a comprehensive anti-bullying program called Steps to Respect, Which contains K-2 & 3-5 Grades for the program.  This curriculum gives thorough and complete steps to anti-bullying including underlying and causes of bullying. It is an excellent stand alone curriculum for bullying prevention. Ruben Zepeda has recommended to the board to continue the use of Caring Schools Curriculum K-5 for cost effectiveness alongside Steps to Respect. In addition, a resource called "Links to Literature" will be added to represent people based on race, religion, national origin, disability or sexual orientation. The problem with this is, parents or the community may not be given a say in which books will be read to our children may solely be in the hands of the teachers.

Our children need your support! Yes, we should continue to respond in loving, and kind, compassionate ways, even while enduring name-calling. However, we must remain firm and not be pressured into watering down, neither our values nor our convictions, especially when it comes to what our children are being taught.

Administrative Complaint Update
On Tueday September 15th, 2009, the School Board, met to hear an Appeal of an Administrative Complaint supported by S.E.R.V.E. Alameda.  We witnessed a travesty, as the muted silence of Jensen, Mooney and Tam, allowed the motion to hear the Appeal, to die without a 2nd.  The plaintiff restated the core argument that the Board did not follow its our written procedures when accepting the lesson 9 curriculum with neither expert education evaluation nor public advisory hearings; but merely relabeling it "Caring Schools". Counsel also restated the legal basis for the validity of the appeal being heard by the Board.  The cowardice was appalling to witness, as board member, Jensen stared aimlessly out the window, and Mooney figeted at his seat.  S.E.R.V.E. Alameda is seeking to reach parents who have experienced discrimination or unfair treatment of their children in the Alameda public schools.  We assist parents to engage the district's own administrative complaint process to redress grievances.

Parents Sue Over Right To Opt-Out
The Alameda Unified School District is currently deep in a lawsuit by informed parents after the District denied their requests to opt their young children out of objectionable homosexual-leaning. The District's claim is that discussion of sexual orientation is not sex ed, and therefore did not warrant opt-out. .....Right. Parents are busy, granted, I'll give you that, but not stupid. Who are you kidding?

Resource Links
A committee of S.E.R.V.E ALAMEDA has been researching glbt in the public schools and informing concerned Alamedans about the homosexual agenda, and the culture war being waged on the Island by the Bay  We are making available additional Resource Links as we educate ourselves of these activist's strategy and tactics.

The genesis of "homosexual rights" ... The Supreme Court
The tactics of the "homosexual rights" movement resulted from a stinging United States Supreme Court decision in Bowers vs. Hardwick (1986).  By reversing the Court of Appeals, the Court affirmed established anti-sodomy laws of the States, were valid. ( A subsequent decision by the Court barred all such state laws.)  Then, barred by the Courts, activists have carved out an exception for behavior resulting from an alleged "genetic orientation".  The problem, no genetic link to behavior can be established, much less proven.  There exists no definitive medical test or scientific evidence proving any allegation that homosexuality is immutable (born into it), like race or gender; nor disprove that homosexuality is a choice, as is all human sexuality except rape and pedophilia.  The AUSD school board voted to teach kindergarden to fifth graders, these behaviors are normative, even though there are negative public health consequences from the practice of these behaviors.  To understand where the rights movement eminated, see Bowers, Attorney General of Georgia vs. Hardwick et al.

Desensitization, Jamming and Conversion

If you have ever questioned how homosexuality in America has come so far so fast.  Come from generally defined as "...self destructive lifestyle typified by hundreds and hundreds of casual sodomy pairings, infectious disease and foreshortended lives" to becoming "an all out, all the time, protected class with so-called rights to flaunt offensive behavior in the faces of those who challenge this issue on logical, factual, moral, cultural or religious grounds".  Then you are not alone.  See Putting strategies to work: the homosexual propaganda campaign in America's media

Throw away your Webster's Collegiate Dictionary definitions and retune your ears for the terminology of homosexual movement.  It is all over AUSD schools and curricula today.  Terms like "tolerance", "anti-bullying", "safe school", "ally", "diversity" and especially "feelings".  This is all by design, and is all pro-homosexual.  The wordsmith-in-chief is now the undersecretary of education - the so-called "safe schools czar"!  See Kevin Jennings' twisted terminology

What is homosexuality Education All About
Can schools and school officials be sued over homosexuality education?  Attorneys say 'YES!" when homosexual activists and school clubs put students' health and rights at risk.  See Legal Liability Associated with Homosexuality Education

How's This for Tolerance?
The most overused term of "homosexual rights" activism is "tolerance".  "Tolerance" is used to bully those with non-homophobic opposition to homosexuality.  One group that male and female homosexuals have "zero tolerance" for are ex-homosexuals ( the existence of ex-homosexuals destroys the myth that homosexuality is (genetic) immutable (congenital).   If they could never choose to start, then they could never choose to stop. ) The national education association, the teacher lobbying agency mentoring teachers unions ( especially the alameda education association ) in alignment with "homosexual education networks" was sued for "...its refusal to extend sexual orientation protection to former homosexuals".  One of the great unreported stories in the homosexual movement is persecution experienced by men and women who have left homosexual lifestyles. While these activists demand special rights for their sexual behavior (un-natural and abnormal), they deny rights of those who choose to renounce homosexual behavior and return to heterosexuality (natural and normal).  See DC Court ruling affects "ex-gays"

Dumbing Down Alameda: One Child at a Time
Academics have been compromised, and traditional family values are under attack in California's ( and Alameda's ) public schools.  Rescueyourchild.org says, under the heading California Parent Alert  "What you've heard about new laws is true.  Your child will be sexually indoctrinated in public schools."  See The Problem Facing California Public School Parents.

We contend that teaching homosexual lifestyles in Alameda's K-5 amounts to indoctrination of our children.  So while the stated goal of the AUSD board was "anti-bullying" the underlying goal is to confuse children blur gender lines and  encourage "gender choice" and gender roll experimentation.  The video It's Elementary is linked below.  NOTE:  The faces of children tell a real truth in this disturbing video.   See Brainwashing our children in elementary schools.

A must read:  "Gay activist groups, with teachers’ union applause, are importing a disturbing agenda into the nation’s public schools.  City Journal - Spring 2003"  is an excellently researched article which forecast what happened at the Alameda Board of Education Meeting on May 26th, 2009.  After reading this article you will be fully informed what concerned parents are up against in public education nationwide, and why California was in 2003 and is still the battleground for the "homosexual agenda".  See Queering The Schools.

With the constant battle in Sacramento over funding the Alameda Unified School District, The Board of Education could have saved $10,000.00 this year ( if anti-bullying was needed at all ).  We are informing Alamedans of an excellent anti-bullying curriculum already in use atAlameda Community Learning Center.  Found in each student's handbook, the curriculum is factual, behavior-based and targets bullying.  The program teaches effective strategies and suitable behaviors in two age-appropriate "lessons".  Adoption of this teaching-ready curriculum could have prevented the fracture which the Board's "homosexual-friendly" program perpetrated on Alameda's youngest minds. See Take Action Against Bullying.

The old adage - all politics is local - does not apply to what parents are up against in this battle.  Indeed a state-by-state agenda underlies what we are facing in Alameda today.  Take heart, see more about how the parents in Montgomery County Maryland are standing up to the lgbt agenda in their public schools.
